Accommodation at Macalla Farm

The accommodation at Macalla Farm is simple, comfortable and relaxing with
beautiful views of Clew Bay and Croagh Patrick.

Two buildings make up our accommodation; one an ecologically renovated farmer’s cottage built at the turn of the last century which was the original farm house, and the other an adjacent outbuilding converted into a simple three bed house known as “the extension”.

Shared accommodation and single rooms: Sharing in twin accommodation is the standard for our residential retreats. Single rooms are available for an additional charge on a very limited basis. While we fully understand that everyone would prefer to have their own room, we greatly appreciate those who are willing to share.

For those on a tight budget it is sometimes possible to camp at the centre and avail of a €20 per night discount.

Please note:

  • Both houses are strictly non-smoking
  • There is no wifi, television, microwave in either house
  • Children and pets are usually welcome, but please check with us in advance of booking
  • The cottages are a mile and a half from the harbour, main beach and pub, and two miles from the shop

We are very conscious of our ecological footprint and hope that those participating on our retreats join us in bringing awareness to the ordinary aspects of living.  We ask that guests be sparing with the use of electricity and conserve water.

STAYING AT THE FARM

Two adjacent buildings make up our guest accommodation; one an ecologically renovated old farmer’s cottage built at the turn of the last century and the other a renovated outbuilding known as the ‘new cottage‘.

Occasionally when courses are not running, it is possible to rent the accommodation as self-catering for those on personal or solitary retreats, or avail of B&B rates for those seeking a quiet time away from it all.
