Sati Yoga Foundation Training

For experienced practitioners and yoga teachers

The Foundation Training is an intensive 9 day course which explores the principles of Sati Yoga from both experiential and theoretical perspectives.

With it’s general theme: Embodiment through Practice, this unique training will deepen your understanding and practice of yoga that goes far beyond the physical postures.

Through the integration of classical yoga and early Buddhist teachings from a non-dogmatic and secular perspective you will discover that your experience of asana, breath work, meditation will be challenged, extended and ultimately transformed.

You will discover that mindfulness (sati) is not just a fashionable add-on but a unique capacity of awareness to be diligently cultivated. Through a creative mix of taught classes, group work, dharma talks and presentations, periods of silence and karma yoga, guided meditations, self-practice sessions, mindfulness practice in nature, the training serves to re-connect us to what matters.

This course forms the first residential module for both the 200hr and 300hr* Satiyoga Teacher Training Programme. It can also be taken as a stand-alone intensive training, providing 60 CPD hrs.

It also gives students who are new to Macalla Farm or unsure about teacher training the chance to visit and try the Sati Yoga approach before committing to either of the teacher training programmes: the year-long 200hr Teacher Training, or, for student who already hold a 200 hours certificate, the 300 hours programme, leading to the Sati Yoga teacher certificate.

This course can be booked separately or as part of the whole TTC course. Once you have completed this course, you also have the option to continue with the October module, or defer your teacher training until the following year.

NB. This course includes a preliminary online module in march / april. This online module introduces the four pillars of Sati Yoga: Ethics Body Breath & Mind and clarifies what to expect on the course. It aims to answer two essential questions: What do we mean by Mindfulness? What do we mean by Yoga?
