Natural horsemanship for children

We are delighted to offer equestrian activities for children aged 6 to 12.

During these sessions, children learn how to build a relationship with the animals they are handling in order to earn respect and trust. In the process, they gain self-confidence and assertiveness. Children are taught how to halter, groom, lead and handle the ponies from the ground. Please note that riding is not normally involved in initial sessions. There will also be games, team work and plenty of fun!

Session are about 60 minutes (or longer, depending on number of children involved) and must be booked at least one day in advance.

Note that while our ponies are safe and well used to children, they are not riding school ponies in the conventional sense, and these sessions are not conventional riding lessons.

These sessions are run on donation and the proceeds go to charities supporting animal welfare or a better relationship between man and nature. To get an idea of what a suitable donation may be, just check the price of riding lessons of equivalent length or see our donation page .

Just a quick email to says thanks again for accommodating the kids sessions with the horses. They loved it and it was one of the highlights of their visit to the island.

Just a quick note to thank you for the great experience the children had horse riding, while on their exchange programme from Norway. You made them feel very safe and comfortable throughout the entire ride. They absolutely loved the games, trotting and cantering and now the children want to try riding some more at home. It was an incredible experience and we would definitely recommend it to others.
Thanks for your generosity and keep up the good work!
