Connecting with horses: mindfulness, yoga and horsemanship
30 June - 3 July
On this unique course, we look at how to use mind, body and breath to communicate with horses. This course is suitable for people with no previous experience with horses as well as those who are more comfortable in relating to these wonderfully sensitive animals. It involves three hours of yoga and meditation practice every day, as well as a lot of time spent outdoors with the horses, and for this reason, a good level of physical fitness is recommended.
The course starts on Friday 30 in the evening with dinner followed by an introductory talk and a short meditation and finishes at 4.00 pm on Monday 3rd of July. It is possible to stay at the farm until the Tuesday morning, cost of the extra night is 40 euros.
Each day will start with a two hour yoga class focusing on mindful movement and breath awareness. On Saturday and Sunday we will also have an evening yoga session which will focus on mindful breathing and meditation techniques, with a focus on using these techniques in our work with horses.
In the afternoons, we will do some practical work with the farm’s horses. We will look at how horses communicate with one another, and how we can use posture, movement, breath and eye contact to communicate with them effectively.
The cost of the course is 520 euros (or 560 euros if you are staying until the Tuesday morning) and include shared full board accommodation (organic vegetarian food) and tuition in horsemanship, yoga and mindfulness.
This course is now full, waiting list only.
There’s room on the four day course at the end of August,
